University of Kentucky Summer Trumpet Institute

June 12-15, 2017

General Information

-This program is open to High School, University, and Adult Trumpet Players.
(Students who have completed 8th grade are eligible to participate. If you have questions about if you are old enough to attend, please contact Jason Dovel)

Expenses

Tuition for the four-day institute is $250.

Room and board is $200. (optional)  Apartment-style housing will be in UK's state-of-the-art fine arts dorm (opened in 2016)

Daily Activities

-Daily master classes, concerts, and performance opportunities

-Specialized classes in solo performance, orchestral excerpts, Baroque trumpet, jazz improvisation, and trumpet ensemble

-Opportunity to work with highly acclaimed guest trumpet artists from around the United States

-Held on the University of Kentucky campus (Lexington, Kentucky)

-On-campus housing available in state-of-the-art Limestone I Fine Arts Dorm (constructed in 2016)

Air Transportation

If you are flying to Kentucky for the institute, it is recommended that you fly into the Lexington Blue Grass Airport (LEX). Free shuttle pickup to and from the Lexington airport will be available. If you need pickup from the airport, please email your flight information to Jason Dovel at Jason.Dovel@uky.edu.

Housing

For participants who choose the room and board option, housing will be in brand-new Limestone I, the state-of-the-art fine arts dorm, opening in Fall 2016.

Participants should bring their own linens.

Participants will register the morning of June 12.  Participants will check out the evening of June 15.

Meals:

For students who choose the room and board option, meals will be on campus, provided by UK Dining Services.
